Lights in the Attic Wedding Films-  There are beautiful brides, and then there’s BEAUTIFUL BRIDES!  Marjan was one of the latter.  Marjan and Babak were married on August 14th in downtown Portland at the Hilton Hotel in front of over 220 people that came as far away as Iran.

Marjan’s gown was by Enzoani and her veil was from her seamstress at Kathi’s Stitchery.   Babak’s tuxedo and the groomsmen’s suits were all from Mr. Formal.  The colors were green, brown, and featured cymbidium orchids from Old Town Florist.  The cake was designed by the fabulous Jutta Bach from La Joconde Wedding Cakes and featured an amazing four flavors- Hazlenut, Chocolate Ganache, Passion Fruit, and Cassis.  IT WAS DELICIOUS!  Catering was by the Hilton and the fabulous Persian baked goods were made by Bon Bon Bakery.  I thought they looked so good they have a lot of face time in this trailer.  The event coordinator for the wedding was Kristina Lazos from the Hilton.

We also personalized a same day edit for the couple that was shown right before they entered the reception hall and was enjoyed by the entire room.  The DJ was brought in from San Diego-and I liked him a lot.  His name is Nader Tehrani and had the music loud and pumping throughout the evening and kept the crowd dancing and smiling.   He was one of the best dj’s I’ve ever seen!  I also worked with David A.Barss photography, who I also shot with for the Same Day Edit.  David is one of the nicest photographers in this state and I only wish that I can have the opportunity to work with him more.  Brides, if you need a photographer, You have to check out David!

Lights in the Attic Wedding Films-

After a few years in the wedding business, you find out that there are weddings, and then, THERE ARE WEDDINGS!  Priscilla and Dominic’s wedding was one of the latter.  Taking place on a breezy summer afternoon at the Meduri Farms family compound just a stone throw away from Willamette Valley Vineyard, this wedding was AMAZING!

It all started months earlier when Priscilla’s mother-in-law surprised her with an early christmas present- Taking her to the big apple to pick out her wedding dress from the world renowned Kleinfeld Manhatten, which has recently been made even more famous by the TLC Show “Say Yes to the Dress“.

This wedding was oppulent!  The Meduri family started by creating a wood burning pizza oven by the pool so the folks over at Salem’s finest “DaVinci Restaurant” could make fresh homemade pies for the more than 400 guests.  DaVinci’s didn’t stop there.  They shut down there entire restaurant plus hired extra staff members so they could cater Priscilla and Dominic’s special day.  I have to say that my wife and I love DaVinci’s and the owner Mo Afshar is a true character in the very best way. This is what they made for the girls why they were getting ready!

The food looked incredible.  DaVinci’s chef’s started the evening out with a salad of chopped Romaine and Watercress, with oven roasted Beets, pickled Red Onions, bacon crumbles, hard boiled egg, and a Sherry Vinaigrette.  The Meduri’s gave the guests 3 options for entrées.  The first was a Misty Isle Farms Beef Filet with Hama Hama Oysters and wild Oregon mushrooms.  The second was a serving of the delicious Copper River Salmon with blood Orange and Fennel Pollen.  Last, but CERTAINLY not least was the Porcini Sacchetti Filled mini pasta pouches.  These included Porcini mushrooms topped with Parmesan and drizzled with one of three sauces; Roasted Tomato, White Truffle cream, or olive oil.  I personally buy my olive oils from Mo and his restaurant and I guarantee that they are some of the very best.  All entrées were served with roasted potatoes and mixed veggies.  Priscilla picked a yummy cake from Lovin’ Oven as well with Fresh Strawberry white cake filled with fresh strawberries and whipped filling, along with a Chocolate Fudge Cream Cheese cake that had the moist chocolate cake filled with a cream cheese filling.

For the elegant theme of the day, The Meduri’s picked Oregon Bride Magazine’s 2010′s Best Rental company, West Coast Event Productions, Inc. to deliver the goods on the décor, tables, linen’s, flowers, and lighting design.  The team at West Coast EventsProductions Inc created a truly elegant and beautiful setting for Priscilla and Dominic. It all started in the family barn, which West Coast Events Productions Inc. made into a ballroom, with Chiffon ceiling treatments lit underneath with hundred’s of lights.  The perimeter of the barn also had chiffon treatments uplit with PAR lights.  The floral design featured iron trees with clear glass cone votives along with a large floral spray with ruscus leaves.  The chairs, which were my favorite were Mahogany Clavari chairs with ivory roses and cone votives.

The reception area had a more contemporary style, and featured the rustic-chic “Louisiana Bayou” look of the elevated dance floor with chiffon treatments around floor with willow and cafe lights acting as the centerpiece to the whole yard.  The tables featured Mocha Shantung linens with Kiwi Lime Shantung Napkins (Shantung is a pure raw silk for us guys). I loved the way the tables looked and our film captured them nicely.  The plates were a Taupe Earthenware with a Kiwi square glass swirl salad plate sitting on top of a wood grain charger.  The centerpieces were small iron trees with votives, along with ivory roses with Ruschs leaves and more cone votives with key lights at the base.  Other centerpieces near the cocktail tables and Prosciutto bar included the famous iron trees with simple centerpieces of Limes in a cylinder with floating candles.

Salem’s own and very talented Tara Haney of Tara Francis Photography was the photographer and took just incredible images of the entire day.  Megan Ward from Red Pearl Designs created the invitations, programs, and menu’s, as well as our friends from Distinctive Designs by Denise (bouquets and boutonnieres), Crossroads Fine Linen’s and Party Rentals (Arbor in Ceremony), Lovin’ Oven (Wedding Cake), Music Express (DJ), Ania’s Collection (Bridesmaid dresses), A Formal Affair (Suits), and incredible restrooms-yes super cool restrooms by All American Waste Service helped round out the incredible list of vendors.

The ambience, the food, the guests, the families, and most importantly, Priscilla and Dominic enjoyed what turned out to be a spectacular wedding.  This is only a tease, with the best yet to come.

Here’s a taste of Amanda and Chuck’s wedding day.  A beautiful early summer afternoon in the heart of downtown Ducksville, the two die-hard fans tied the knot at the First Christian Church in downtown Eugene and then continued the celebration at the Eugene Country Club.

Never a guy to stop rolling film, I followed the gents to the esteemed Black F0rest Inn to play some pool while my partner helped get some great happy moments from Amanda.  The rest my little minions…history!

In this line of work, you come across some of the most honest, decent, and just human beings.  I have to say that Amanda is one of those people.

She just came across as one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and I was so proud to document her love story with Chuck.

Their entire wedding is being edited right now but this is the love story that was played at the reception at the Eugene Country Club.

Jessica and Scott were married at the incredible Fairgate Inn outside of Camas, Washington.  The bride and groom were gorgeous and the guests were treated to luxury.

Lights in the Attic Wedding Films-  Just announced! IN [FOCUS], the wedding cinematographers go-to video event of the year, will be held at the beautiful Royal Sonesta Hotel on Bourbon Street January 24th to the 26th.  Yours truly is a guest blogger on the IN [FOCUS] website and will be making the trip to hang out with the most talented wedding cinematographers in the world!  As you can tell, I am super excited about this and it will be my first holiday in over two years!  Watch out Big Easy, Haners is coming!!!

Lights in the Attic Wedding Films- Another one of our signature love story films. Nicole and Cody will be getting married right on the beach in Pacific City at the Pelican Pub. What makes it special to Nicole and Cody is that this is where Cody proposed to Nicole as well.
Love Stories are my favorite part of our wedding packages, from filming to editing. I get to listen to the bride and groom tell their complete story of the relationship. Every story is so different and amazing, and centered around the love between two people. Nicole and Cody are no different. Two young people who found love in Cheney and are trying to get their career jobs in the same field. These two are meant for each other. This weekend culminates in their wedding. Children, a Harley Davidson, and retirement are but a few of the pieces of the couple’s future that is discussed here in the love story.
